Welcome to ShorthandTips. Com! I am a professional Stenographer with over 12 years of experience working in District Courts. My good practice background gave me a lot of stenography experience and taught me to capture everything using accurate speed at my best level. My mission is to assist you in mastering the magic of stenography so that your process will become a little more seamless and productive.
Why Shorthand?
Shorthand is much more than just a swift scribbling method; it gives us the sharpening ability for precision, confidentiality and speed. When we are in a field where the number of words can “cost money” or impact success, like courtrooms, legal depositions and business meetings, there is much to be said about transcribing spoken words. One way of documenting in real-time is using shorthand so that the stenographer can keep track of every word spoken.
But there’s more to the value of shorthand than its use in a professional environment. If one thing you do in your free time is learning shorthand, you can be a faster learner. It helps improve concentration and retention. Learning shorthand is a skill in itself, and the effort needed to learn that type of notation will require skills like great attention to detail and immediate processing of information.
My Journey in Stenography
Over the years, I have held many positions within the District Courts, which has developed my skills and understanding of stenography due to constant exposure.
My work in the law has been so diverse, including everything from your garden variety of civil disputes all the way to some of our most sensational criminal trials. No two cases are the same, and each requires a different amount of care and accuracy; this type of variety makes my job challenging but, in the end, rewarding. Working in these environments taught me not just to be a better writer but also the importance of stenography and how it fits into the legal process.
